During 4 afternoons -1pm to 5pm-, your children will explore and understand the world of 3D printing:
Design your own 3D printable objects!
How about creating your very own digital design? At the iMakr store, you will learn how to use 3D design and modeling software. With all this knowledge and your creativity you will be able to build your very own 3D printable object from scratch! You will create 3D digital design with two software; Tinkercad, easy-to-use and child friendly and Fusion 360 more advanced and more professional. The best thing is that Tinkercad and Fusion 360 are free so, after your 4-day at the iMakr Store, you will be able to use them at home and keep creating your own objects!
Print your own designs and take it home!
Before you can print your 3D printable objects you have to slice it. A slicer is a 3D printing software that converts digital 3D models into printing instructions for your printer to create an object. Slicer settings impact the quality of your print. With the iMakr team, you will learn how to choose the right settings to get you the best quality print possible. You can also download 3D printable objets as files. We will show you where to find great content for printing the object of your choice. It can be awesome gadgets, beautiful deco design, funny toys & games, fan art, accessories for your mobile... print whatever you like!
A note on safety
3D printing is fun and safe under the proper supervision. The tip of the printer’s extruder has to get hot enough to melt the PLA—they don’t call it a hot end for nothing!—so your child will learn all the rules for operating their printer safely and in the presence of an adult. The iMakr team will accompany them along all their activities, so they can have a lot of fun while discovering this spectacular technology.
