Build your own 3D printer and take it home!

The STARTT 3D printer comes as a kit and is easy to assemble. Step by step your children will build their own 3D printer with the help and advise of the iMakr team. The purpose is to understand how a 3D printer works and what parts are required to build it. The 3D printer will be able to print objects up to 14 x 12 x 13 cm in size.

Learn how to use your 3D printer and print the object of your choice!

It’s now time to understand how 3D software works and how to prepare a file for printing. We will show to your children where to find great content for printing the object of their choice. It can be awesome gadgets, beautiful deco design, funny toys & games, fan art, accessories for mobile... print whatever you like! By the end of the day, they will know all the basics about 3D printing and will be able to print at home!

A note on safety

3D printing is fun and safe under the proper supervision. The STARTT prints with a material called PLA (polylactic acid) which is corn based and harmless. The tip of the printer’s extruder has to get hot enough to melt the PLA—they don’t call it a hot end for nothing!—so your child will learn all the rules for operating their printer safely and in the presence of an adult. The iMakr team will accompany them along all their activities, so they can have a lot of fun while discovering this spectacular technology.
