ABOUT INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi requested U.N and other world leaders in September 2014 to declare a World Yoga Day. Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations unanimously declared 21st June as International Yoga Day and is currently backed by more than 174 states. As mentioned by Indian Prime Minister, Yoga is unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Last Year, a staggering 35,985 people took part in the Yoga day celebrations organized by Modi and created a world record for the largest Yoga lesson.
